2020 Programs and Events

Unless otherwise specified, monthly meetings are held on the fourth Thursday of the month from January through October, at the LSU AgCenter Botanic Gardens, Ione Burden Conference Center, 4560 Essen Lane, Baton Rouge, LA, at 6:30 p.m - 8:00 p.m.

Guests and visitors are welcome to attend our programs; $5 admission for non-HSABR members.

NOTICE: Our monthly meetings are suspended for the foreseeable future because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

 All hands on deck. 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., Burden Botanical Gardens.

March 26
Monthly Meeting: 
Medicinal Herbs in Folk Traditions, with Mila Berhane of Greenhands Nursery.

April 23
Monthly Meeting: 
Making Herbal Infusions for Use and For Delight, with Carol Roshto and others.
Note: This meeting will be at Magnolia Mound Plantation on Nicholson Drive in the new Visitor Center.

May 28
Monthly Meeting:
 Finding and Preserving Native Plants, with the Acadiana Native Plant Project.

June 25
Monthly Meeting: Companion Planting for Pest Control, with Kitty Bull.

July 23
Monthly Meeting: Herbal Pestos, with Ginger Musso of Season to Taste.


August 27
Monthly Meeting: Informal gathering with Herbal Snacks.  Member home to be announced.

September 24
Monthly Meeting: Annual Meeting and Herb of the Year presentation. 

October 22
Monthly Meeting: Touching the Divine: Lessons from the Herb Garden, with Art Scarbrough.

No monthly meeting in November because of Thanksgiving.
